		<description>Ha, you are lucky. I had one of my favorite professors point out to me I&#039;d used masculine third person nouns in a paper, scold me for not being gender-aware since I worked for the paper, and then he STILL marked me down a letter grade over it.

I&#039;m still not sure whether to be mad at him or Helen Johnson over it. But I am the master of writing grammatically correct sentences while avoiding all gender-specific pronouns in the abstract now.</description>

		<description>It&#039;s true about the word hails.  I used it in a college paper once, and one of my favorite profs pointed that out to me.  Thankfully, he is a big sports fan and knew I wrote for the school paper, so he didn&#039;t hold it against me.</description>
