But only because it’s 79 degrees and rising here in the house.
They say this is the last day of 100+ temperatures. I sure hope so! Silly me, taking two days off when it’s too hot to do anything outside.
On the plus side, everyone in the house has gotten a haircut in the past two days. We’re all very stylish now.

Ummmm, why is the temp rising in your house?!?! Doesn’t sound good…
It’s the combination of a 30-some-odd-year-old HVAC unit and a month or so of highs over 100. Not a good combo. The AC has actually done better than I expected it to, but it doesn’t really have a fighting chance when it’s 104 outside.
It’s on the list to get replaced, but the water heater and stove have to come first. :)
So what’s causing the high temps there? Is it some abnormal weather pattern? I didn’t think it ever got that hot in Nashvegas…
I got one word for ya, Cole: global warming. Our average high in August is 88 degrees, and obviously we’ve blown the top off that already this year. We’ve also been extremely dry all year — most counties in Middle Tennessee have been in a drought since mid-spring. We don’t ever have a drought.
Also this year, we had an unexpected late freeze, in April. Our typical last frost date is around April 7, but not only did we go below freezing past that date, we have a number of nights with lows in the teens.
All this to say, I believe the scientists 100% when they say that global warming will start causing more extreme weather events. Hopefully next year our summer won’t be this hot again….heck, maybe next year it will be floods. :(
I did not know that I was suppose to post everything. I got a haircut Saturday but with so little hair left, I do not feel stylish.
